Pale after UFC contract fight: I wanted to end it in the first round, so that’s a little disappointing
Tereza Bledá had her Contender fight and although it ended in victory, she unfortunately did not earn a UFC contract. What did she say after the fight? She wasn’t completely satisfied with her performance, but at her age she still has plenty of time for the UFC.
Tereza Bledá had her Contender fight and although it ended in victory, she unfortunately did not earn a UFC contract. What did she say after the fight? She wasn’t completely satisfied with her performance, but at her age she still has plenty of time for the UFC.
Theresa Pale took on thirty-two year old Brazilian Nayara Arnault Maia Correia at Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating her on points.
However, as it happens, the fears became reality and this performance was not enough to earn a contract from the UFC. So after the tournament came the disappointment and Pale may move to the Octagon again.
“I’m obviously happy that I won, but I also have to say that I’m depressed about the fight. Because it didn’t go the way I expected.
I wanted to end it in the first round, so that’s a little disappointing. I just wanted to end it and have more control. I didn‘t like the way it went,” she told her fans.
“Dana, I hope you enjoyed my match at least a little bit. I just want to say that I’m the new generation. I’m 20 years old. I believe I can make it in the flyweight division. I hope I get a contract,” she said to the UFC president afterwards.
The deal fell through, which was the very reason she didn’t get a contract. Dana White actually believed the performance would be better, and given how favored she was, he decided she still needed time.
