An absolutely key figure and also one of the central faces of Napoli’s title chase. Victor Osimhen was, or rather still is, in the sights of several European clubs. However, the club’s owner Aurelio de Laurentiis confirmed on Monday evening that Osimhen will sign in Naples for another two years.
Manchester United, Chelsea or Bayern – these are the clubs that have shown great interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window. But as it looks now, the Nigerian forward is very likely to stay in Naples.
The Lagos native’s current contract with his current employer expires at the end of June 2025. According to Transfermarkt , his current market value is €120 million.
At a recent press conference where Napoli announced the arrival of new coach Rudi Garcia, De Laurentiis confirmed that he and Osimhen had agreed a two-year contract extension.
“I have been saying for some time that Osimhen must stay. If an offer came along that I could not refuse for the good of Napoli, then we would consider it, which is only natural,” De Laurentiis was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
But De Laurentiis later added that even though he has agreed a contract extension with Serie A’s top striker for another two years, he is leaving the door open to those interested in his services.
“We spoke with Osimhen before the Scudetto celebrations, so we already have a basic agreement on a two-year extension of his contract. As for the other players, we have to study that with Rudi, because I have been convinced for many years that pre-season preparation is the basis,” he added.
Osimhen moved to Naples in September 2020 when Napoli snapped him up from French side Lille for a fee of $75 million.
Since then, he has appeared in 101 competitive matches for the Partenopei, scoring 59 goals and adding 14 assists.
