Naomi Osaka has a problem with the media again. At the Cincinnati tournament, she walked out of a press conference after a pointed question from a journalist. He accused her of only appearing in front of them when it suited her. The conference was subsequently interrupted.

Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka boycotted the media ahead of the French Open due to her mental health, which was widely blamed.

She even withdrew from the tournament due to the intense pressure. According to her words, she has been suffering from depression since 2018, so one cannot be too surprised by her move.

This time, however, something has happened that most certainly shouldn’t. In fact, one of the journalists told her that she is not afraid of the media when it suits her.

“When you say I’m not mad because of you, what does that say. Since I was young, the media has been interested in me because of my background. It’s not my fault that when I tweet or say something, it immediately becomes articles and stuff. I’m trying to balance the approach but I haven’t figured out how yet,” she replied.

Moments later, she burst into tears and the press conference had to be interrupted. After five minutes, she returned and finished the conference.

Her agent, Stuart Duguid, subsequently complained about the journalist’s behaviour, describing it as disgusting.
