Poland witnessed one of the bloodiest fights in MMA history

The Polish town of Będzin, located near the border with the Czech Republic, witnessed a shocking sporting event this past weekend. The local Będzin Arena hosted the fourth tournament of the Polish MMA organization MMA Attack.

The gala, which featured former UFC or Bellator fighter Oli Thompson in the main bout of the evening, was an incredible spectacle. The Polish duo of fighters Mateusz Makarowski and Krystian Blezien put on a war that will go down in the history of the organization.

Practically from the first minutes, it became clear that both fighters were serious. In the very first round, the two exchanged heavy blows that made them a bloody mess. Anyone who thought it would be over soon would be mistaken.

As the fight went on, the lacerations on both fighters’ faces only got worse and blood spurted across the octagon. It was such a huge miracle that the fight reached the scoring judges after the opponents’ heads were pounded together.

The two principals were indistinguishable after the fight

Makarowski won a unanimous decision and improved his professional MMA record to 8-5. Although all it took was one look in the mirror and thoughts surely entered his mind as to whether the win was worth it. The 25-year-old fighter had to have two lacerations stitched up just below his eyebrows after the fight. In addition, his face was so badly swollen that his vision was impaired.

Blezien, who is now 4-4 after the loss, was far worse off. Severe swelling around his eyes, deep lacerations all over his face, including a horrible looking gash on his left eyebrow. In addition, his lips had puffed up so badly that he was unable to communicate after the fight other than by shifting.

Although there was only one official winner, both fighters came out of the fight with tremendous merit. Now, although they will have some time off from the doctors to recover from their wounds, they will surely get an invitation to the upper echelons after their fight went viral around the world.
