The national striker Zdeněk Ondrášek is experiencing a very unstable period. Since January 2019, he has already changed engagements six times. It was in January 2019 that he left Wisla Krakow for Dallas, where he lasted a year and nine months before joining Viktoria Plzeň.
However, he only spent one season in the western Czech Republic, after which he moved to Romania. He didn’t get many chances to shine in an FCSB jersey, however, and due to a crazy owner, a swift end came about and the 33-year-old striker was left looking for another engagement.
Ondrasek signed in September with Norwegian side Tromso, where he had already had one successful spell in the past just before he left for Krakow. And the foreign circle is coming full circle as the Czech striker will wear the Wisła jersey this year.
The Krakow-based club announced that Ondrášek has signed a contract until the summer of 2023. The contract includes an option for extension.
The former Pilsen player played 69 competitive matches for the traditional Polish club, scoring 21 goals and adding 10 assists. Fans have grown very fond of him thanks to his tenacity and combativeness. Understandably, they are now happy about his return.
After an unstable period, Ondrášek gets a chance to settle down for the last years of his career in a place he already knows very well and where he has thrived in the past.
Can he fight his way back into the national team?
