Oktagon unveils new Tipsport Gamechanger! The fight will be at lightweight, surprisingly missing Losene Keita
Oktagon was saving its news for a big press conference called OKTAGON TIME, which included the unveiling of the second series of the Tipsport Gamechanger project. This time we will see lightweight fighters fighting and we can look forward to a truly stellar line-up.
Oktagon was saving its news for a big press conference called OKTAGON TIME, which included the unveiling of the second series of the Tipsport Gamechanger project. This time we will see lightweight fighters fighting and we can look forward to a truly stellar line-up.
A year ago, Oktagon introduced us to a revolutionary novelty in the form of Tipsport Gamechanger. The project, in which a total of one million euros is being fought for, is coming to an end.
It will culminate on 29 December at the O2 Arena, when Bojan Velickovic takes on Andreas Michailidis.
It was communicated beforehand that the organization decided to continue the project and presented the second series at the press conference. Although it won’t come as a big surprise to many, this time the lightweight fighters will be in attendance.
The system will remain the same and the fighters introduced so far from the Oktagon representatives are Vladimir Lengal, Ronald Paradeiser, Akonne Wanliss, Konrad Dyrschka, Mateusz Legierski and Marcel Grabinski. The latter fought in the project in the first year as well and will therefore be losing a lot of weight.
We have also seen the announcement of fighters who are not part of the Oktagon. Specifically, Makwan Amirkhani, Predrag Bogdanovic, Acoidan Duque, Mago Machaev, Milos Janic and Daniel Torres will take part in the project. The latter is a former KSW champion who is also among the favorites.
Surprisingly, Losene Keita is not yet in the project, who is still waiting, as participation would not allow him to wrestle elsewhere next year. Ivan Buchinger is also missing. And when will we see the start of the project? In Ostrava, of course, on March 2, 2024
Oktagon 50 is around the corner
Already this Saturday, the Oktagon 50 tournament is on the schedule, where we will see two title fights. Losene Keita, coming off an injury, will challenge Niko Samsonidse for the vacant featherweight title, while Ivan Buchinger and Ronald Paradeiser will face off in a rematch for the lightweight belt.
