OKTAGON 32 is just around the corner and with it the title fight and rematch between the champion David Kozma and the legendary Peter Knížet. The bookmakers favour the former and rightly so.
Knizet did manage to beat Kozma in their last fight, but it’s almost 4 and a half years old. While the Octagon champion was still wrestling, still measuring himself against better and stronger opponents, making progress and improving, Knyze, at almost 45 years old, hasn’t had much room to move forward.
Back then, Kozma was relatively inexperienced, and by his own admission, he lost mostly because of his head, having too much respect for Monster. But now he’s had tougher opponents, he’s survived big tests. He’s practically improved in all aspects of the fight, including the mental side.
Monster is obviously a tough guy, he can take a lot and endure a lot. But the same can be said for Kozma, who has been able to survive critical situations in his last two fights against two UFC veterans. Moreover, the champion can go five rounds without the slightest problem.
The prince has already had big problems with Kaiko Brito. The Pink Panther is definitely not inferior to the skilled Brazilian. Of course, he can’t boast such a great attitude, but he’s got a punch.
The bigger question is whether the Prince can last five rounds. Given that he’s an experienced groundskeeper himself, Kozma might not dominate him on the ground. In the standup, though, the champion should have the upper hand. And although Knizhe has a lot of stamina, he’s never taken a five round fight.
Kozma can be expected to win. But for those who like to take a little risk, the odds of 2.41 that the fight won’t go to the fifth round are certainly tempting. Combined with the fact that Kozma will end the fight early, the lure is almost irresistible.
