OKTAGON 31 will offer some interesting fights. One of the most interesting ones will definitely be the duel between Zdeněk Polívka and Alex Lohoré. A year ago, nobody would have thought that the Czech fighter could face such an opponent, but his recent performances have made him think so.
Polívka has the desire to improve, he has shown tremendous progress and most importantly fearlessness, for which he has been rewarded. He was able to defeat UFC veteran Eric Spicely, who retired after a loss, then beat Robert Bryczek.
Lohoré came into the Octagon to great fanfare, but so far he has remained below expectations. Or rather, he’s talked more than he’s shown in the cage so far. He has lost two of his three fights, namely to Karlos Vemola and Apollo. Of course, they were tough opponents.
While this Primera was not enough for Lohoré according to the judges, it was a very close and evenly matched fight. If Primera had won, few would have been surprised. But if Lohoré showed anything, it was heart. He showed physical and mental resilience against Vemola.
And what to expect from Lohoré’s match with Polívka? Certainly not a tactical battle. Polívka is a fighter, so is Lohoré. Neither is much of a tactician. Polívka should be heavier in the fight, which could play in his favor. The fight can be expected to be mostly staged.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the fight ended on points. Both fighters will have a lot to endure and withstand, the slight favorite is rightfully Polívka, who will be in very good mental condition.
