Probably the most important fight of his career is in front of Viktor Pesta. At OKTAGON 28 he will fight for the welterweight title with Stephan Pütz, according to some the best welterweight fighter in Europe.
After all, Pütz was a champion in two weight classes in the M-1 organization in its heyday, when it was one of the best organizations in the world. He regularly trains with top fighters from the world’s best organizations.
As far as the style of fighting is concerned, wrestling, which he excels at, plays to Peshta’s maximum advantage. But the German is much more complex, especially in stance he should have the upper hand. Moreover, he looks more hungry.
There may be a big difference in experience as well. Pütz will be fighting for the title for the 12th time in his career, and this is his 6th title fight in a row, having won the previous 5. Plus, he’s battling a real top welterweight. He’s beaten bigger names than Peshta.
It’s simply not going to be easy for Peshta, even though he is also an excellent fighter. Instead of betting on the winner, it’s worth betting on the number of rounds.
