Nylander notched three assists
In the game Toronto Maple Leafs vs San Jose Sharks (7:1), the home team was the favourite. It is not surprising that the Sharks suffered another debacle. William Nylander, who recently signed a record-breaking megalomaniac contract in the Maple Leafs organization, shined with three assists.
Marner rises through the Maple Leafs club scoring ranks
In the same game, Mitchell Marner even racked up four points for two goals and two assists. He now has 598 points in 545 games played in Toronto for 185 goals scored and 413 assists.
He has already jumped to a historic seventh place in the Maple Leafs’ club scoring. Leaving behind a legend like Frank Mahovlich.
To make matters worse, the Toronto forward recorded his 16th four-point game in a Maple Leafs jersey. He also leapfrogged Frank Mahovlich for second place in club history in that statistic. Only Darryl Sittler is better in that regard, he did it 26 times.
Marner improved to 46 points already this season as a result. And he’s well on his way to breaking the 90-point mark again. He’s already done that three times in his overseas career. Last season he finished just one point short of the fabled hundred.
Ullmark out, Boston lost
In the game Arizona Coyotes vs. Boston Bruins (4:3), which was decided at 64:04 by Arizona forward Nick Schmaltz. the team from Boston suffered an unexpected defeat. David Pastrnak scored his 25th goal of the season in this game, but his Bruins fell in overtime.
They also lost Linus Ullmark to a lower-body injury in overtime. His substitute Jeremy Swayman scored from the first shot on goal and the Coyotes were able to enjoy a valuable scalp over a team that is still playing above expectations.
