Novak Djokovic vs. Denis Shapovalov: Preview and betting tips

On Friday afternoon, we have the semifinal matches of the men’s Wimbledon. In one of them, Novak Djokovic will take on Canadian player Denis Shapovalov. Will there be any surprises?

Novak Djokovic is currently at the top of the ATP rankings with a comfortable lead over Daniil Medvedev. Nothing will change after Wimbledon, where he defends his 2019 triumph.

The thirty-four-year-old Serbian tennis player lost a set only to the host Jack Draper at the All England Club this year. Duels against Anderson, Garin or Fucsovics, on the other hand, he won without losing a bouquet.

His opponent on Friday will be the twenty-two-year-old Canadian Denis Shapovalov. He needs only Hubert Hurkacz not to advance to the final to move into the elite ten.

At Wimbledon, Shapovalov is in an ideal frame of mind. He has beaten Murray, Bautista and the in-form Khachanov. If he performs his best, he will have a chance on Friday.

So what to bet on? The paper favourite is Novak Djokovic, who also leads the match statistics. Shapovalov, however, will be the toughest obstacle so far on his way to his 20th Grand Slam title.
