Novak Djokovic is already considered one of the most successful tennis players of all time. And no wonder. After all, the Serbian tennis player has ruled the ATP circuit for an incredible 316 weeks. He’s also added 18 Grand Slam triumphs.
The first time Novak Djokovic topped the ATP rankings was in July 2011. Since then, he has spent a record 316 weeks on the tennis throne, recently surpassing Roger Federer (310 weeks).
The Serbian tennis player has already claimed 82 titles on the ATP circuit, 18 of which have been grand slams. In addition, he could soon notch up his 950th career win – he currently has 943.
Thirty-three-year-old Djokovic has finished at the top of the rankings for six years. And it looks like he could add another. Daniil Medvedev, second in the rankings, is currently 2,021 points behind him.
“This achievement has been very fulfilling for me and my family. It’sprobably the biggest achievement I’ve achieved in my career,” Novak Djokovic said in a recent interview.
Did the one-time Davis Cup winner celebrate this achievement? “I was very happy to be able to stay close to my family and share the joy with them, even though the limitations were such that we couldn’t do the kind of celebration we would have imagined,” Djokovic added.
