Novak Djokovic dominated the indoor Masters tournament in Paris for the sixth time. In the final match he defeated Daniil Medvedev 2: 1 in sets and consolidated his first place in the ATP ranking.
The match started very badly for Djokovic. He lost his serve in the first game and sent his opponent into the lead. And even though he took the break back in the fourth game, Medvedev eventually took the first set 6: 4.
In the second set there was only one break, which was taken care of by the Serbian tennis player. However, it was very difficult for Djokovic to finish the second set. In the last game of the second set, he had to fight off three break points, but he finally managed the ending and sent the match to a decisive third set.
Novak Djokovic then dominated the third set. He broke his opponent three times and after the result 6::3 he finally went on to win the Masters title in Paris.
Djokovic won his 37th Masters title and 86th singles trophy overall. The Serbian tennis player thus became only the third player in history to dominate both the Grand Slam at Roland Garros and the Paris Masters. Before him, only Andre Agassi and Ilie Nastase had done it.
Djokovic also consolidated his leading position in the ATP rankings. He leads the ranking by a fantastic 3,300 points over his final opponent from Paris, Daniil Medvedev.
Both final opponents are guaranteed to participate in the Tournament of Champions in Turin, which will take place from 14 to 21 November. Both players have the highest ambitions for this tournament.
