West Ham, with two Czechs in their squad, will be looking for their first league points against Nottingham in the second round of the Premier League on Sunday. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Nottingham were really looking forward to their return to the Premier League, but after a big strengthening of the squad, they disappointed. They lost 0-2 to Newcastle, but could have easily got a double charge. He has a lot to make up for in front of his own fans.
West Ham faced the toughest possible opponent to open the season. The Hammers held Manchester City off for the first half hour, but then Erling Haaland started firing and it was all over. Now three points are expected.
A lot is expected from Jessie Lingard in the new season, the English midfielder is the highest paid player in the team. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who along with Lingard joined from Manchester United, should also be a mainstay.
On the away side, the biggest star is Jarrod Bowen, one of the most productive players in the competition last year. Jamaican international Michail Antonio made thirteen appearances from the top of the attack last season.
Nottingham’s defensive performance has been poor in the build-up to the tournament, and they have not kept a clean sheet in five games. West Ham are not doing well in attack, scoring just three goals in their last five games.
Considering the quality of West Ham’s offense and Nottingham’s unplayed and indeed miserable performance in the first round, I think the Hammers will win.
