Indeed, many star players headed to Saudi Arabia over the summer transfer period, with even Inter’s key man Henrik Mkhitaryan receiving an offer. However, he has turned down a stint in the Saudi Pro League, preferring to extend his contract with the Italian giant.

In the last few dozen hours, the Football Italia server has come up with the news that clubs from Saudi Arabia have shown interest in Inter’s key man Henrik Mkhitaryan.

This information was then shared by Armenia News, the website of the country where the player himself comes from. The Saudi Pro League clubs have reportedly offered Mkhitaryan a two-year contract and double his salary, which is €3 million net per season.

However, he has not accepted any of these offers so far as he prefers to stay at Inter. Mkhitaryan believes he still has something to give to European football and would like to extend his contract at the San Siro.

However, while the 34-year-old midfielder is said to insist on a guaranteed two-year contract, Inter are ready to offer their player a one-year deal with an option to extend it for another year.

It must be noted, Mkhitaryan is a very important player for Inter. Coach Simone Inzaghi regularly puts him in the starting lineup and if he doesn’t play the whole game, he substitutes after the overwhelming part of it.

Mkihtaryan at Inter…

The native of Yerevan has appeared in six games in the black and blue jersey so far this Serie A season and has registered two goals, plus one assist. He scored both in the Derby della Madonnina, which makes it all the more valuable.

Mkhitaryan transferred to Inter in July 2022, on a free transfer from AS Roma. He has since featured in 56 competitive games for Inter.

In them, he has scored seven goals and three assists. He has won two trophies with the Milanese big club so far – the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.
