Norwich City will not investigate further into the case of Brandon Williams, who is on loan at the club from Manchester United. Williams was investigated after he posted and later deleted a controversial Instagram post.
Williams made his name at United in the 2019/20 season but found himself out of the team the following year due to the return of Luke Shaw. He was loaned out to Norwich this season in a bid to get more game time.
Now, however, the club has addressed his activity on social media after he posted a photo with his middle finger showing and the caption. Easy up Norwich City.” The photo appeared on Instagram just hours after the 4-0 loss to West Ham, where Williams featured in the starting eleven.
The controversial post was soon deleted from his Instagram story and later replaced with several photos and a video of his two dogs.
First, the defender posted a video of his dog sitting outside enjoying the sun, with the caption.
This was then accompanied by a black and white picture of another dog in the next image, with the caption “That’s what it is too ” and four laughing emojis.
The abuse directed at his current club could be seen as a similar incident to that of Brentford striker Ivan Toney earlier in the season.
Toney was on holiday in Dubai during the international break in January when a video of him repeatedly saying ” F**k Brentford” went viral on the internet.
Norwich will not be looking into the situation further
According to Sportsmail, a small group of fans went to see Williams after the Norwich game but did not arrive at his ground. Norwich have spoken to Williams about the post and the situation has now been resolved.
While Williams has impressed at Norwich this season, both Shaw and Telles have underperformed at Old Trafford, which gives the youngster hope that he can claim a more regular role next season under new Man United manager Erik ten Hague.
