Norwich vs. Leicester: preview and seeding tips

Published

on

Norwich welcome Leicester on Saturday. They would like to score first in the third round, but the visitors have a lot to make up for. Will Rodgers’ charges confirm their role as favourites, or will the newcomer get off the bottom of the table?

Norwich had a terrible start to the season, on the other hand, they had the toughest draw of all the clubs. First, they lost to Liverpool (0::3), then they were beaten by Manchester City (0::5).

Even Leicester cannot be satisfied. In the first round, they beat Wolverhampton (1: 0) with a goal from Jamie Vardy, then lost in a shootout to West Ham (1: 4), who gave a terrible team performance.

The newcomer made up for it in Tuesday’s cup game against Bournemouth. The 6: 0 win was helped by two goals from reinforcement Josh Sargent. Christos Tzolis, the 19-year-old Greek winger, also scored two goals.

It’s hard to single out anyone in the Foxes’ squad. Youri Tielemans backed up a good performance against Wolves with a goal in the West Ham net, while Ricardo Pereira also deserves praise for his good form after his recovery.

Norwich have struggled mainly in defence, conceding eleven goals in their last four games.

The Foxes have the opposite problem, they have not scored more than once in their last three games.

Given the width of Leicester’s squad, I think they will break the game open in the second half and win.
