Manchester United officially announced a few dozen hours ago via the club’s website that Mason Greenwood will no longer continue at the club following an internal investigation.
“Our process began in February 2023 after all charges against Mason were dropped. Throughout the process, we have taken into account the wishes, rights and perspective of the alleged victim, along with the values of the club, and have sought to gather as much information and context as possible. This has required us to be sensitive and careful in obtaining evidence that is not publicly available, including evidence from people with direct knowledge of the case.
On the basis of the evidence before us, we concluded that the material published on the internet did not provide a complete picture and that Mason had not committed the offences in relation to which he was originally charged. However, as Mason publicly admitted today, he made mistakes for which he takes responsibility,” the statement said.
However, the 21-year-old talented forward apparently does not have to worry about being without a commitment for some time. According to the latest information, AS Roma and Galatasaray are interested in his services. And based on British media reports, Al-Ettifaq are also among the serious suitors.
The Sun and Mirror newspapers report that the Saudi Arabian outfit is willing to offer the English forward a very decent wage. Specifically, ten million pounds a year.
Al-Ettifaq and other interested parties…
It should be noted, Greenwood was not the only player who was headed from the Premier League to Al-Ettifaq. As well as currently being managed by Steven Gerrard, the outfit also brought Jordan Henderson and Moussa Dembele into their ranks.
However, Roma coach Jose Mourinho reportedly made contact with the Bradford native back in July. Greenwood also has suitors in Italy, with Istanbul Basaksehir also expressing an interest apart from Galatasaray.
There is definitely interest in the young Englishman. However, it should be added that Greenwood has not played since January last year. Since then he has been suspended by Manchester United, but in recent months he has been training individually and trying to return to professional football.
