Liverpool vs. Manchester City. One of the most attractive games of the weekend. However, the Reds are struggling and are 13 points behind the Citizens, who are second. But they can close the gap on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola could be enjoying some interesting signings this summer. The arrival of Erling Haaland, in particular, has been a source of joy so far as the Norwegian sharpshooter has astonished the world and scored goal after goal.
It was Sadio Mané who left Liverpool and it is clear from the current performances that they are failing to replace him. When Jürgen Klopp was faced with the question of how his team can face the reigning champions of England, he wasn’t exactly positive.
“You won’t like the answer and you all know it. Nobody can compete with Manchester City. They have the best team in the world and they have strengthened with the best striker on the market. No matter what itcosts, they will just do anything,” Goal quoted the German strategist as saying.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have strengthened their squad with Darwin Nunez, who hasn’t been doing so well so far. Still, Klopp claims Liverpool cannot behave like the Citizens. And Núñez was more expensive than Haaland.
“There are three clubs in world football that can do what they want financially. It’s legal. Now I’ve heard from Newcastle that there is no ceiling for them. They are absolutely right, congratulations to them. But other clubs have ceilings,” Klopp let himself be heard.
