Scuderia Ferrari has revealed plans for upgrades to come later this season. In any case, stable boss Frédéric Vasseur has explained that Ferrari will not deploy these upgrades in the upcoming two grand prix, but afterwards.

Fourth place in the Constructors’ Cup, 191 points on the board, no wins – Ferrari was probably hoping for a bit more from this season.

The Italian team from Maranello recorded its best result of the year in the Austrian Grand Prix, namely a second place driven by Charles Leclerc. Ferrari then scored its biggest points haul in Azerbaijan (36 points) and Austria (32 points).

In short, Ferrari’s performance is like a seesaw. One race this team will do great, but in the next two races there will be a significant drop in form.

The proof is in the races in Great Britain and Hungary, where Ferrari scored only three and ten points respectively. And after McLaren also returned to the fight for the podium, the Italian team has an extra competitor.

It should be noted, Aston Martin dropped significantly in performance a few grand prix before the summer break, Mercedes is already concentrating mainly on next season as far as development is concerned. And while the teams currently ahead of Ferrari in the championship standings are focusing their energies elsewhere, the Italians are preparing yet another package of upgrades.

But it won’t come for the upcoming two races, the Dutch and Italian Grand Prix, but afterwards. And why is that?

“We will bring some upgrades before the end of the season, but the car project for 2024 is completely different. And even though we are sending data from one car to the other, the projects are completely different,” Vasseur said in response to a query from Racing News 365.

“We’re not planning any big upgrades for next weekend because Zandvoort and Monza are typologically two different circuits, so we’re planning them a bit later, ” the Ferrari boss explained.
