For the month of November, Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has been named the NHL’s biggest star, averaging two points per game. Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard was voted the best rookie during the period, and he maintained a record of one point per game.
In 14 games, Kucherov recorded 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. The Russian hockey player thus averaged two points per game in the period under review. He managed to score at least one point in 12 of the 14 games played, and he has not come up empty in the last eight games.
His six-point performance against Carolina stands out the most, it was the first six-point performance since December 7, 2022, when Buffalo’s Tage Thopson recorded 5 goals and 1 assist. The current scoring leader is also the best in shots on goal, he managed to produce 111 shots on goal.
Other defensive stars
The second star of the month was Colorado Avalanche offensive defenseman Cale Makar. He scored 25 points for 4 goals and 21 assists in 14 games played during the period. For a defenseman, this is a very decent performance.
Like the Russian hockey player, Makar managed to score in 12 of the 14 games played. He also set a new league record in that period. He became the fastest backer in history to amass 200 assists, only needing 254 games played to do so.
The third star of the month was another offensive defenseman, Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks. By the way, Czech hockey player Filip Hronek also benefits from his cooperation in the first defensive pairing. Hughes collected 22 points for 5 goals and 17 assists in 15 games played.
Hughes also scored in 12 of the 15 games played, including an 11-game streak in a row in which he managed to score. His performance against San Jose stands out the most, scoring 5 points on 1 goal and 4 assists in that game.
Bedard named Rookie of the Month
Chicago’s youngster Connor Bedard, took over the baton from Lukas Dostal and became the best rookie for the month of November. He was able to maintain a point per game during this period. In 12 games played, he recorded 6 goals and the same number of assists.
The absolute number one overall pick in the 2023 draft leads all rookies in goals (10), points (18) and shots on goal (65). He is the first Blackhawks player to win the award since Dominik Kubalík, who did so in January 2020.
