Nice assist, laughed Ceballos to Courtois. It was unlucky to fuck up like that, said the Belgian

Thibaut Courtois proved to Real Madrid fans yesterday that he is only human too. After his huge blunder, Liverpool were already leading 2-0, but Los Blancos turned the game around with five goals and after the game Courtois and his teammates could only laugh at his mistake.
Last May, in the final in Paris, Courtois was an absolute god. With an unearthly performance, he thwarted several Liverpool chances and became man of the match. Mohamed Salah in particular has had many more weeks of the Belgian ‘octopus’ sleeping badly.
But the Egyptian striker waited for his moment and hit back at Courtois. In the Champions League eighth-final, he first netted in the fourth minute after a Darwin Núñez penalty and another disaster ensued.
In the 14th minute, Courtois worked a pass from Carvajal, only for the ball to jump on his knee and bounce to Salah, who easily cleared the ball into the net.
However, to the Belgian goalkeeper’s luck, Real Madrid turned the game around with five goals and set themselves up for a luxury position for the rematch. So there was room for jokes after the game.
“Great teams can erase mistakes. Great win at Anfield,” Courtois wrote on his Instagram post. “Beautiful assist, my friend,” teammate Dani Ceballos laughed at the goalkeeper in the comments.
“Honestly it was a bit unlucky to f*ck it up like that, I worked it well and I was going to kick it away but then I saw Salah was standing so I thought I’d pass it to the right and that’s when the ball hit me in the knee,” Courtois described the situation from his perspective.
Vinícius then reduced it to 1::2 and to make sure Courtois was not left alone, Alisson held him up on the other side. The Liverpool goalkeeper hit Vinícius with a pass and the ball bounced into the net.
