Newcastle will be looking for their second win of the season on Saturday when they welcome Bournemouth to their home ground, with both teams having the same number of points but very different ambitions. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?

Newcastle had a rather tough draw at the beginning of the season, yet they managed to get seven points and hold on to the eleventh position. However, they have already drawn with Manchester City and lost a point against Liverpool in the setup. They are only three points behind sixth-placed Chelsea.

Surprisingly, Bournemouth, the biggest relegation contender, is on a roll. They beat Aston Villa in the first round and Nottingham in the sixth round and are now 13th with seven points. Newcastle are only a point behind and so far can be satisfied.

The biggest star of the home team is Allan Saint-Maximin, the French speedster has scored once and assisted twice so far. The master of direct kicks Kieran Trippier has confirmed his skill in playing standard situations once so far.

On the away side, the talented Marcus Tavernier has been performing well in midfield, while the biggest offensive threat Dominic Solanke has split the net once and assisted once. And that his hit was worth it, scissor-driving a turnover against Nottingham.

Newcastle have relied on solid defending so far this season, scoring only six times, including three against Manchester City. The great catching of summer signing Nick Pope is part of that.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, have struggled defensively, conceding the most goals in the league (18), including 15 away. He was already criticised before the season for having a seemingly second-rate defence.

Therefore, given Bournemouth’s defensive woes, I expect Newcastle to win and score at least two goals.
