Newcastle vs. Arsenal: Preview and betting tips
Arsenal continue to fight for the Champions League, they must beat Newcastle on Monday to return to fourth place. It won’t be easy, the Magpies are picking up a lot of points at home in particular, but the Gunners have also picked up in the second half of the season.
Newcastle are quietly in the middle of the table, although back in December it looked like a fight for relegation. But a new owner and a lot of reinforcements have changed everything, the Magpies are currently fourteenth, just three points behind eleventh place.
Arsenal could have already had the Champions League, but they are paying for two poor seasons. In the last round they lost to Tottenham 0: 3 and their city rivals came within one point of them. After Spurs’ win over Burnley at the weekend, Arsenal must win.
Lyon’s winter signing Bruno Guimaraes has been in good form, alongside four goals and an assist, he was nominated PL Player of the Month for April. Slovakian international Martin Dúbravka is also doing well.
Although Bukayu Sako is still only twenty years old, he boasts eleven goals and six assists in the league this season. The Gunners overall stand on youth, after all, other mainstays are Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Emile Smith-Rowe.
Newcastle are thriving at home, winning six of the last seven league rounds at Saint James’s Park.
But Arsenal come to Newcastle with a revved up attack, more than twice Mikel Arteta’s charges have scored in four of their last five games.
The home side will be without Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey ho and Federico Fernandez, while Rob Holding, Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney will not help the visitors.
Given the form of the Gunners offense, I think the visitors will win.
