Newcastle are planning a transfer bomb! He wants to get Neymar from PSG, but it would cost the English club a lot of money
Will Neymar move to Newcastle United in the summer? That is the big question at the moment, but the owners of the English club want to bring at least one big star to their squad in the summer transfer window. The biggest attraction for the Brazilian international should of course be the Champions League qualification.
Will Neymar move to Newcastle United in the summer? Football server 90min came up with the information a few dozen hours ago that Newcastle’s majority shareholder, PIF, want to bring Neymar to their club in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, PIF officials are planning to bring at least one high-profile signing to St. James’ Park in the summer. The main attraction for the Brazilian international is, of course, participation in the most prestigious club competition in the world and, in short, a new challenge.
PIF has also discussed with coach Eddie Howe the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr. However, according to recent reports, the Portuguese playing legend, if he were to actually leave Saudi Arabia, is more likely to consider a return to Real Madrid.
In fact, the royal club has offered him the position of ambassador. Moreover, Howe is not convinced that Ronaldo would fit into the current club’s mood. The club’s management also does not want to force the coach into any decision which, according to him, could even be counterproductive.
Will Neymar leave PSG?
Neymar is a slightly different case anyway. Newcastle is planning to bring in a player on the left side of the offensive line independently of Neymar. It should be noted, the club already has two Brazilian footballers who could get along with Neymar.
Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton are two of the best players in this team. Much has been written about the relationship between Neymar and PSG in recent weeks and months, with Lionel Messi’s time in the Parisian capital being considered as an almost dysfunctional relationship between club and player.
Neymar could be next in line. While the thirty-one-year-old Mogi das Cruzes native is under contract with PSG until the end of June 2025, the Parisians are willing to negotiate his departure for a solid price tag.
It should be added, of course, not every club will be able to afford to not only bring Neymar in, but also offer him an acceptable contract. And that is exactly what Newcastle officials would like to take advantage of. And it should also be added that this week Neymar was the subject of a protest by PSG fans right outside his home.
Current information then suggests that the French giant would demand at least £75 million for a potential transfer. That’s a sum that might not be a big problem for Newcastle.
So, whether the English outfit will actually manage to bring Neymar is still a question, whereupon we will find out the answer in the coming weeks. Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, among others, are also interested in the Brazilian international.
