Neither Kane nor Osimhen heeded Manchester United’s call. So the club is preparing to send a second bid to Atalanta for Danish Haaland
Manchester United desperately need a striker and are very active in the transfer market in this regard. However, neither of the duo Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen is likely to strengthen the Red Devils and so the English side has to look elsewhere. Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta is the new target.

After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, coach Erik ten Hag was looking for an adequate replacement. The man he wanted was his compatriot Wout Weghorst, who shone at the World Cup in Qatar, sending the Dutch national team into extra time with two goals. However, the Dutch still lost to Argentina on penalties in the end.
In total, the 30-year-old striker scored just 2 goals for the Red Devils, while playing 31 games. Most of the goals were scored by wingers led by Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes. The need to bring in a new striker is more than obvious.
However, neither of the aforementioned strikers will be heading to Old Trafford, with Napoli reportedly asking £150 million for Osimhen, negotiations with Tottenham regarding Kane seemingly ended even before they started.
Danish Haaland
Manchester United are thus preparing a second bid for Atalanta, for whom Hojlund scores goals – specifically, he scored 9 of them in the Italian Serie A last season, according to The Sun, which is expected to be around £40 million.
Much like we have witnessed Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo duels, we could now see interesting duels between Rasmus Hojlund and Erling Haaland.
The Danish striker is very similar to his counterpart in attack. Both are left-handed. He may not have such impressive stats, but at 20 years old there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Hojlund only joined Atalanta a year ago, who acquired him from Sturm Graz in Austria. As the season went on, however, he started to get more and more space on the pitch until he became one of the key men for the Italian side.
He would certainly be a great acquisition for Haga, and one with a lot of potential for the future. However, one can count on the fact that even £40 million will not be enough for the Italian outfit. Hojlund offers a lot for the future and he is currently under contract until 2027.
