Neapolitan gem Victor Osimhen, or the Lightning Killer, who will be the subject of a big battle, possibly as early as this summer
There are not many top free agents on the market and Victor Osimhen is definitely one of them. And apparently he could replace Robert Lewandowski, who wants to leave for Barcelona, at Bayern Munich. However, the German giant will also have to fight hard with the other big clubs, who are keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding the Nigerian striker.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bavarian giant has already tried to contact Napoli’s management to enquire about the availability of striker Victor Osimhen. The latter has now managed a successful second season at the club.
Osimhen is 23 years old and is predicted to have a bright future. This season he has been on a roll, but has been hampered by injury. In 32 games he scored 18 goals and added 6 assists.
The Nigerian striker has been blessed with practically everything a top striker needs. He is very fast, strong on the ball, has a great jump and most importantly, his finishing is uncompromising. Really great skills for such an age, which will undoubtedly one day take him to one of Europe’s big clubs.
Of course, the Italian club is aware of this and is reportedly demanding €120 million for their gem, but no one can be surprised. Moreover, Napoli are known not to be shy of their demands, as many clubs have seen in the past. Kalidou Koulibaly can serve as an example.
However, other big clubs are also in the game, especially from the Premier League. Not long ago, there was talk of Arsenal’s interest, but they brought Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. The striker is now mainly wanted by Chelsea and maybe Manchester United as well.
The situation is unclear regarding Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not travel with the team for pre-season training and is expected to leave. Chelsea would like to take advantage of this, as they are reportedly luring the Portuguese striker to Stamford Bridge.
Should this transfer come to fruition, Manchester United will need to plug the hole left by their top scorer from last season. However, is it willing to spend such a sum when it is preparing 2-3 big transfers?
The chess game is on and Osimhen is undoubtedly part of it. However, Napoli have huge demands that will be very hard to meet, whether it’s Bayern Munich, Manchester United or someone else.
