Triple-doubles were the order of the night by Doncic and Jokic
In the Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz (147:97), Luka Doncic had another triple-double. This time he had 40 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. But he did something unprecedented.
After halftime, he had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He became the first player in NBA history to have a triple double with at least 25 points after halftime.
At the same time, it was his 60th career triple-double, pushing Larry Bird, a Boston Celtics legend and Hall of Fame member, to 10th place on the history charts.
Nikola Jokic, whose triple-double of 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists was not enough for the visiting Denver, who fell to the LA Clippers 102:111.
Embiid scored 50 points
The MVP and last season’s top scorer Joel Embiid also shone. He contributed 50 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists in the Washington Wizards vs. Philadelphia 76ers (126:131). It was the sixth time in his career that he managed to break that mark.
Banchero as “Shaq”, but the Magic’s winning streak ended
The Magic’s winning streak came to an end in the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic (121:111). Paolo Banchero scored 42 points and became the second youngest player in Magic history to break the 40-point mark.
Only Shaquille O’Neal, who was one year younger than Banchero, has done it in franchise history. Donovan Mitchell scored 35 points for the home Cavaliers.
