In the death group of League A there were the traditional draws. In the match between England and Italy, no goal was scored despite seven shots, while the Hungarians took a point from their match with the Germans thanks to a fourth minute goal. They are thus keeping alive their hopes of survival in the elite league.
What’s more, the Hungarians are third after three rounds and have a two-point lead over the last English team. On the other hand, the Hungarians have only one home game left, while the English will play twice at Wembley.
The Dutch also remain top of their group, having drawn 2-2 with Poland. The Belgians are three points behind, having only drawn 1-1 with Wales. The Islanders are at the bottom of the table, three points behind the third-placed Poles.
Ukraine continue to dominate their group, not even being knocked out in the last round of the World Cup play-offs. They beat Armenia 3-0 and lead the table ahead of Ireland. The latter crushed the Scots 3-0 in front of their own fans.
The most evenly matched group so far is Romania. It beat the Finns 1:0 on Saturday and is now only two points behind first-placed Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the Romanians have two more home games to play, while the Finns have only one.
Turkey continues to confirm that it does not belong in League C, beating Luxembourg 2: 0 and is still 100 percent. In the relegation battle, Faroe Islands beat Lithuania 2-1 and are third, while Lithuania are last without a point.
