The Czech national football team will play two matches in November, a friendly against Kuwait and a World Cup qualifier against Estonia. Coach Jaroslav Šilhavy has already announced his nomination.
Tomáš Vaclík is the number one in goal, who will be backed up by Aleš Mandous and Jindřich Staněk. Šilhavý nominated Tomáš Wiesner and Filip Novák for the defence, and David Zima, who did not have good playing experience in Italy, is also going.
The coaches have nominated David Pavelka for the midfield, who has lost his place in the national team in recent months. Jan Kuchta will replace the injured Patrik Schick in the attack.
“We will miss a few players, but we will still have a strong and experienced team. Our clear goal is to win both games. We want to fight for the second place in the qualifying group and at the same time prepare well for the important barrage in March,” Jiří Chytrý, assistant coach of Jaroslav Šilhavy, told fotbal.cz.
The nominations count 22 players, with at least one place still vacant. The coaches are still deciding and will nominate one player before the start of the meeting. It is on Monday, November 8th.
Here is the list of alternates.
The national team will miss mainstays such as Patrik Schick, Ondrej Kudel, Jakub Jankto, Jan Bořil and Pavel Kadeřábek.
“We will miss such players. But at least other players will get a chance. Especially since we also have a preparatory match, where some tactical plans will be tested. It will be important to have as many healthy players as possible together in March, when the World Cup qualification will be decided,” Chytrý added.
The national team will play Kuwait in a friendly match in Olomouc on Thursday. On Tuesday, they will then challenge Estonia in Prague in a qualifying match.
