Naples has fallen in love with the Georgian Maradona. Kvaratskhelia is surpassing all expectations and ranks among the world’s greatest talents

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia may still be a bit of an unknown name, but if he continues his great performances, it won’t be for long. He transferred to Naples quietly in the summer for a negligible sum. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia may still be a bit of an unknown name, but if he continues his great performances, it won’t be for long. He transferred to Naples quietly in the summer for a negligible sum. Now he is one of the driving forces and is one of the reasons why the Italian side is sovereign across all competitions.

Will Naples finally win the trophy?

In recent years, it has looked like Napoli must start preparing for an era when it will not be enough for the Italian top flight. However, last season new coach Luciano Spalletti proved that this is definitely not the case.

The side from under Vesuvius had long been in the title fight, only falling out of it in the final rounds of Serie A. There was admittedly a lot of concern over the summer, with several legends leaving the club and more rather unfamiliar faces arriving. However, everything fell into place perfectly.

Napoli are currently leading the Italian Serie A without a single defeat, as well as being top of the Champions League and boasting the highest number of goals and shots in both competitions. If you like offensive and attractive football, then it’s time to start watching this team’s matches.

One talented footballer in particular, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, is a big part of that. This is a 21-year-old chic from Georgia, who reminds of Diego Maradona or Lionel Messi with his style of play. No wonder Partenopei fans refer to him as Kvaradona.

Quaradona is totally exceeding expectations

Kvaratskhelia arrived in Naples in the summer for just €10 million. His talent has been known for some time. After all, clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have also been keeping an eye on him. However, they all eventually preferred other reinforcements.

And yet. The question is whether he would have been given so much trust and space elsewhere. He was already showing great qualities in the run-up to the season. In competitive matches, he really stands out and shines.

He has played 11 games for Napoli in the league and Champions League with 6 goals and 4 assists. He plays mainly on the left wing, but in the offensive he can be used in almost all positions. He is quick, skilful with the ball, his creativity is definitely not lacking and his shots from distance are not a problem.

He is already a complete footballer with virtually no weaknesses. He is also involved in the defensive area, where he can still improve, but at 21 years of age, there are not many players this talented.

It’s no surprise that Napoli fans have fallen in love with him. The nickname Quaradona says it all. There’s only one thing left. To take the team to the trophy, which, given the great start, might not be impossible.

What has the young star of Naples already done?

Kvaradona was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in February 2001. His father represented Azerbaijan. Khvachi started football at the age of eight, soon making his way at Dinamo Tbilisi, where he made his debut at the age of 16.

He left for Russia in 2019. He has played for Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan. Already at the age of 18, he became the best player of the month four times during his debut season in the local Premier League. His numbers were great.

But when Russia invaded Ukraine, Kvaratskhelia had to deal with it. He returned to Georgia, specifically signing for Dinamo Batumi, only to eventually leave for Naples, where he now literally shines.

It’s worth mentioning that the talented footballer is already the driving force of the senior national team. In 19 matches he scored 10 goals for them. And that he would assert himself against weak teams? No way.

He has scored against the likes of Spain, Sweden and Greece. This year, he played seven games for the national team with an impressive record of 5 goals and 4 assists.

Georgia can rejoice. It has a treasure trove of football with incredible potential.

Naples can make a lot of money

Of course, it is too early to speculate what the future holds for Quaradona. However, it cannot be ruled out that one day Napoli will outgrow him and he will want to move to a bigger club or to another league.

But if that happens and the 21-year-old Georgian at least maintains his current performance, Napoli could make a decent profit. Already, Kvaratskheli’s value is €25 million higher than what he came to Italy for.
