My two mistakes cost us the game, Krejci blames himself. Such games can only help us, Sacek is clear

Ladislav Krejčí and Michal Sáček were interviewed after Sparta’s loss in Lyon. How do both players evaluate the defeat and where were the main mistakes in the match?
Ladislav Krejčí started for Sparta in the starting line-up after a long time. It was against a strong opponent like Lyon. The match was very difficult for Krejci. He is not used to such a high quality individuality and system that Lyon presents.
According to Krejci, Lyon plays at a much higher level than Sparta can currently play at. Still, he is glad he entered the match. Even if he couldn’t match Lyon’s best players.
Krejci has healed his injury and is happy that he was able to play the match without any problems. He admitted that he had to play a bit smarter and save at certain stages.
The native of Rosice had a great chance when he shot from the edge of the box but missed: ”What was wrong? The bad thing was that I shot into the middle of the goal. I didn’t concentrate fully on the finish. I was concentrating on finding the best position. Then there was little time to place the shot.”
”My two mistakes cost us the game. Twice I made bad passes and it came down to us. I made a bad pass and we got the break. The second one was similar. I’m sorry. I’m not happy,” Krejci took the defeat of Sparta on himself.
Sparta had more chances than Lyon in the first half. But it was not as effective as at Letná. According to Michal Sacek, Letna had enough chances but they couldn’t convert them. The mistake was mostly in the pre-final part.
”The match showed us that Lyon has terrible quality. He confirmed it at home and at home. But we proved to ourselves that we can play with them. It‘s good for the future that we play these games, it can only help us,” said Sacek after the game.
Like Pavel Vrba, Sáček thinks that the main problem was in passing and losing the ball. Despite Sparta’s preparedness, Lyon were stronger.
