My story in the UFC is still just beginning, says star Conor McGregor. He’d still like to box
Conor McGregor is still recovering from his injury and is slowly getting ready to return to the cage. He still doesn’t know his next opponent, but there are many possibilities. He has several challenges to choose from. And he’s past his prime? He’s not. He says he’s just beginning his journey.
Conor McGregor is still recovering from his injury and is slowly getting ready to return to the cage. He still doesn’t know his next opponent, but there are many possibilities. He has several challenges to choose from. And he’s past his prime? He’s not. He says he’s just beginning his journey.
The former two-weight champion in the UFC last appeared in the cage last July, when he failed to finish a fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 because he broke his leg.
For months now, however, Conor McGregor has been talking loudly about his comeback, preparing fans, the organization and potential opponents alike, who are understandably challenging him to come up with some interesting money.
Now, however, the Irishman has stated that he still has some work to do to get his doctors to allow him to fight fully again. However, he feels that moment is coming and that it is around the corner. He is currently enjoying a holiday in Monaco.
It was in that principality that he met with Sky Sports Boxing journalists and admitted that he would like to box some more. He has only boxed the legendary Floyd Mayweather, but would like to add another. He says boxing is his first love in combat sports.
However, he will make his comeback in MMA. “My story is far from over. In fact, it’s still being written and we’re at the very beginning,” McGregor, who is sometimes said to be past his prime, let it be known.
After all, since the aforementioned fight with Mayweather, McGregor has gone 1: 3 in MMA, beating only veteran Donald Cerrone, twice falling to Dustin Poirier and once to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
