Mourinho wants Zaha and hopes to persuade Zaniola to do the same. If the champion’s plan works, Schick will no longer be the most expensive player in the club’s history
Wilfried Zaha, a great football talent who “buried himself” at Crystal Palace, will probably not wear the big club’s jersey anymore, but at least he could taste European cups at AS Roma. José Mourinho is very interested in his services, as he needs to increase the quality of the team.

The Portuguese coach managed to win a trophy for AS fans in his first season in Rome, when his charges managed to beat Feyenoord in the Conference League final. It was the club’s first trophy since the 2007/08 season, when they dominated the Italian Cup.
However, even this was not enough for many players to stay in the Roman club. One of them is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who headed to Inter, for free.
Moreover, Mourinho is also afraid of the departure of Nicolo Zaniolo, for whom Juventus are preparing an official offer, according to Calciomercato. His possible departure, however, could bring AS a lot of money into the club’s coffers as he is a great talent in Italian football.
The murderous trio of Zaniolo – Abraham – Zaha
According to Goal, however, there is another option. Namely, that the arrival of Zaha would help persuade Zaniolo to stay in Rome, as it would create a very strong attacking trio under Mourinho, which could quite realistically fight for Champions League participation in the upcoming edition.
Moreover, Zaniolo is under contract with AS until 2024, so the club may try to cash in on him after the upcoming season, which if successful, especially from the 23-year-old winger’s side, could still increase his value.
At the same time, it is questionable whether the Roman club could afford Zaha. A couple of clubs already wanted to acquire the English winger, but Crystal Palace slapped a 90 million price tag on their gem, thus scaring away any potential suitors.
Now, the 29-year-old author of 61 goals in the Premier League will certainly not want that much for the London club, but it is still possible to count on a considerable sum. The most expensive player in the club’s history was Patrik Schick, who came from Sampdoria for 42 million euros.
