The only team to beat Argentina at the World Cup is looking for a coach. Saudi Arabia is trying to attract big names not only to its league but also to its national team. At least that’s the information coming from the Italian media.
According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, the renowned and renowned strategist Jose Mourinho has received an extremely generous offer. Currently, the coach of the Italian team AS Roma has a contract at his club until 2024, however, the lure of big money can change everything.
The Portuguese was supposed to be offered a two-year contract, with him earning 60 million euros for each year, with the option to either quit after the first year or extend until 2026.
Mourinho would become the highest paid football coach of all time if he accepts the offer. Yet his future in Rome is uncertain despite a good track record. The club is reportedly keeping the door open and exploring other options.
It is worth noting that star Kylian Mbappé, for example, earns €66 million a year in Paris. Cristiano Ronaldo will earn €200 million a year after signing with Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr.
Recently, besides Mourinho, the legendary Lionel Messi was also supposed to receive an offer from Saudi Arabia. The Argentine world champion has an unclear future at PSG and his contract expires in the summer. Besides Barcelona, Ronaldo’s rival Al-Hilal has also approached him.
Al-Hilal had even offered Messi twice the salary of Ronaldo. If accepted, he would earn a whopping 400 million euros a year.
