Mourinho: Slavia is a great team, they could play in the Champions League. It’s a different level than Sheriff and Servette

José Mourinho paid a great tribute to Prague Slavia. He described the red and white team as an excellent team that could easily play in the Champions League. The two teams will soon test their level in their matches against each other.

AS Roma are not doing well in the Italian league. They have only 8 points from seven rounds and are only 13th in Serie A, the worst start to a season in the club’s history.

But in the Europa League, Roma have no major problems. In the first match at the ground of Sherif Tiraspol, Jose Mourinho’s charges won 2: 1, at home they gave four goals to Servette Geneva.

Is AS Roma a different team in the Europa League better than in Serie A? No, it is rather due to the opponents. Mourinho admitted that the opponents in the Italian league are tougher than the two teams they met in Europe.

“There is a difference in the level of our opponents. The teams in Serie A are better and it is harder to play against them than against Sheriff and Servette. We have six points and we shouldn’t have less. We are better than them, even with the changes we have made. All the Serie A teams are better than Servette and Sheriff. We have to make 12 points against them,” Mourinho said in his traditional confident manner at the press conference.

“But Slavia is a different matter. They are a great team. In the next two games we will play against a team that could very well be playing in the Champions League. It will be very difficult,” said one of the best and most successful coaches in history.

The group table is currently dominated by Slavia with six points and a score of 8:0. AS Rome is second with the same number of points and a score of 6:1. Servette and Sheriff both have zero points.

The first match at the Olympic Stadium in Rome is scheduled for 26 October. Over 3000 fans will travel to Italy to support Slavia. The return leg in Eden is scheduled for 9 November.
