Well, this is more unpleasant news. Barcelona have lost another key player after Ousmane Dembele and Pedroia. The team’s and La Liga’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski picked up an injury in the match against Almeria and will miss Thursday’s El Clásico.

While a month ago everything was sunny and cloudless in Catalonia, it is currently starting to pour down.

Barcelona crashed out in the 1/16 final of the Europa League, lost to Almeria after their worst performance of the season, the players were pretty shaken up by the fallout and injuries are piling up.

After Dembélé and Pedri, another key player, Robert Lewandowski, is injured. The Polish marksman finished Sunday’s game against Almeria, but a hamstring injury was confirmed at Monday’s training session and he is expected to miss probably two weeks.

“First-team player Robert Lewandowski has a strained thigh muscle. He is currently out of action and his return will be determined by the development of his injury,” the Catalan club said in a statement.

He will miss Thursday’s Copa del Rey semifinal against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. He will also miss this weekend’s match against Valencia, where Barcelona will be quite weakened.

In addition to the injured Lewandowski, Pedri and Dembélé, Gavi, who has collected 5 yellow cards, will not be available. Xavi, who has also accumulated five yellow cards, won’t be on the bench much either.

There is also a question mark over Ansu Fati. The young striker was not in the nomination for the match against Almeria due to health problems, but according to the latest information he should be ready for El Clásico.
