The queen of motorsport has moved from the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit to the Netherlands, specifically to the circuit located in the coastal town of Zandvoort. Saturday morning saw the start of the third and final practice session of the race weekend. And here too we witnessed an accident and more red flags.
The fourth red flag of the race weekend. And we’re not racing yet. This time, it was the Spanish Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz.
He failed to control his car at Turn 3 and ended up in the wall. He overstepped on the throttle going into Turn 3, which sent him into an oversteer skid.
You can see for yourself how his Ferrari ended up.
But Sainz is not the only driver who has failed to stay on the track in this way. Lando Norris in the McLaren also ended up in the gravel during the third free practice session. All of this in turn 10.
Almost before the end of FP3, Mick Schumacher also went off the track, also taking his Haas into the gravel zone. Even Charles Leclerc couldn’t keep his Ferrari on the circuit. He complained on the team radio that he didn’t have a good view of the apex.
Max Verstappen dominated the last practice session ahead of both Mercedes drivers.
