Tatum signs an NBA-record contract
According to ESPN, one of the pillars of the Boston Celtics has signed a five-year contract with the championship Boston, during which he will earn a record $314 million. This huge contract will go into effect in the 2025/26 season, surpassing the previous record contract of his teammate Jaylen Brown.
He signed a five-year, $304 million deal with the Celtics last season. Boston has thus secured a striking duo that forms the backbone of the team and can dominate the NBA for several more seasons. Tatum thus expanded the club of megalomaniacal contracts.
The five-time All-Star game participant will thus remain in Boston until at least the 2029/30 season. Last season, he was once again among the top scorers in the regular season with averages of 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and also had 4.9 assists per game. This earned him a nomination to the top five for the third consecutive season. He averaged 25 points per game in the championship campaign.
Philadelphia secured the services of Maxey
the 76ers secured the services of their second-leading scorer Tyrese Maxey after the arrival of Paul George. They offered their mainstay, who had to take over the shooting reins from the injured Joel Embiid last season, a five-year, $204 million contract.
Maxey put up lifetime numbers in every statistical metric the previous season. He averaged 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 23.2 rebounds and even had one steal per game. He improved those metrics for the third straight season, for which he was awarded the Most Improved Player Award.
Golden State and Klay Thompson connection over
Golden State Warriors after 13 seasons, one of their central figures Klay Thompson is leaving the Warriors and heading to Dallas, where the dangerous trio of Irving, Doncic, Thompson is also starting to form.
The four-time champion of the Warriors has gradually dropped out of the starting lineup during this season and then came off the bench, where, ironically, he performed better.
the 34-year-old basketball player signed a three-year, $50 million contract. He went lower with the gage, but here he should be a member of the starting five and relieve Luka Doncic a bit. Thompson is one of the best threes in NBA history and that’s what Dallas is counting on to be dangerous from beyond the arc.
However, Thompson has been limited by serious injuries quite often. That’s why he’s only played 793 regular season games so far, but he’s made 2,481 threes, the sixth-best total in history.
