Monte Carlo Masters
This event is one of the best to watch on clay. It’s no wonder the quality of the tennis line-up is ready to show off in Monte Carlo.
The defending champions from previous years are expected to make an appearance at the event, which will run from April 7. Spectators will have the chance to see both Tsitsipas the Greek and Rublev the Russian.
The packed starting field also includes two tennis players of the upcoming generation. Both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
The Italian Sinner will try to confirm his position as the best player of 2024, while Alcaraz will defend his position as the hegemon of the 2023 clay court season.
But with great expectations, everything is focused on the legend of the tournament. That is, of course, Rafael Nadal.
Nadal and his participation in Monte Carlo
The legendary Spaniard is also registered among the participants of the prestigious event. And he is expected as a true king, which is not surprising.
Nadal has already managed to conquer this Masters tournament eleven times. The 37-year-old tennis player won here for the first time in 2005 and the last time he won the trophy was six years ago.
Whether he will be able to fight for his twelfth Monte Carlo title this year is not yet final. Nadal was already scheduled to be part of several tennis events this year, from which he eventually had to withdraw.
The fact to what extent the Spanish tennis player is already ready to start is still shrouded in mystery. What is clear, however, is that he has not yet opted out of this tournament. With the start of this event approaching, it is also certain that the moment of decision is approaching.
Without Nadal or with him, this premier Masters tournament on clay will be one of the highlights of the coming months.
