Monaco vs. Nantes: Preview and betting tips

Monaco will host Nantes in a dress rehearsal before their second match against Sparta Prague. Will Niko Kovač be able to handle the second game of the new season or will Nantes get all the points?

Monaco entered the new season with a 2-0 win at Sparta in the Champions League qualifiers. In the first half, the French team was on the run, but in the second half they outplayed Sparta and won deservedly.

Nantes has not had an ideal preparation. It has won only twice and followed up last year’s season, when it was saved only thanks to the barrage. They stayed in Ligue 1 at the expense of Toulouse, who will have to fight for promotion to the elite this year.

There are several interesting names in Monaco’s squad. Wissam Ben Yedder has experience from the French national team, Cesc Fabregas has played dozens of games in La Liga and the Premier League.

Ludovic Blas helped Nantes to stay in the top flight last season, the young midfielder scored eleven goals and assisted five times. Forward Randal Kolo Muani and winger Moses Simon also did well.

Monaco has fond memories of last season’s matches against Nantes, winning both games 2-1.

The Nantes players will enter the new season after a really bad preparation, having lost four of their last five matches, three of which they did not score a goal.

Given the improved mood in the team thanks to the win over Sparta, I think Monaco will win by at least two goals.
