The news of the famous agent’s death went around the world on Thursday, but was eventually refuted by his doctor and some media outlets. Moreover, Mino Raiola himself commented on social media.
However, while refuting the fake news, Raiola was fighting for his life and was in a very bad condition. The illness he was fighting finally succumbed on Saturday. He died at the age of 54.
“Mino fought to the end with the same dedication he had when negotiating for his players’ terms,” a statement from Raiola’s family said.
“Mino touched many lives with his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will be missed. His mission to make football a better place for players will continue with the same passion,” the text continues.
