Thursday’s Europa League programme will feature a match between Midtjylland and Feyenoord. Both teams are on three points, with the home environment playing for the Danish runners-up and the quality of the team playing for the visitors. What to bet on?
Midtjylland are not doing well at all in the league, they are only in seventh place, nine points behind the leaders. They have three points in the Europa League so far, after losing to Sturm Graz in Austria, they managed to beat Lazio Rome at home.
Feyenoord have not started badly, but have only gained one point in the last two rounds of the league. Still, as last year’s Conference finalist, they are the clear favourites, with three points from their 6-0 win over Sturm Graz.
The Danish winger Anders Dreyer has been a long-time mainstay for the home team, scoring five times and assisting three times. Brazilian midfielder Evander has four goals and two assists.
On the away side, Brazilian striker Danilo shines, the summer signing from Ajax has hit seven times and assisted once. Twenty-one-year-old talented central midfielder Quinten Timber has two goals and one assist.
Midtjylland have struggled in attack compared to recent years. It has scored more than once in only two of the last six games and has even come up empty twice.
Feyenoord, on the other hand, relies on a goal-scoring attack, averaging 2.6 goals per game in the league and even four goals per game in the cups.
Given the form of Feyenoord’s attack, I think they will outshoot Midtjylland and win.
