The Miami Heat advanced to the playoffs from the last possible position, so in each round of the playoffs they got an opponent that was higher in the conference table.
However, this meant nothing to the Heat basketball players, as they were able to knock out each of the favorites that came their way. They knocked off Milwaukee 4-1 in the eighth round, swept the New York Knicks 4-2 in the quarterfinals and beat Boston 4-3 in the semifinals.
The playoff dark horse from Miami managed to surprise even Denver
However, Denver won the first game 104:93 and seemed to be able to cope with the unpredictable Heat at home. The second game, however, showed that the final series could be very even.
After quarters of 23:26, 34:25, 26:24 and 25:36 from the Nuggets’ point of view, the Heat won very narrowly. Thus, a surprising victory of the paper underdog 111:108 was born and the series moves to Miami at 1:1 on the games.
Jokic has been having a fantastic playoff run and this time he outshined the other players
Nikola Jokic once again showed how important he is to Denver. The Serbian basketball player scored an amazing 41 points in the game, to which he added eleven rebounds and four assists. However, even this performance was not enough for the Nuggets’ second win.
The second best player of Denver was Jamal Murray. The Canadian scored only 18 points, four rebounds and ten assists compared to Jokic.
Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler contributed to the Heat’s first Finals victory. Both American players scored 21 points.
Adebayo added nine rebounds and four assists, while Butler had four rebounds and nine assists. However, Gabe Vincent scored the most points for the Miami Heat. The Nigerian scored 23 points.
