Messi was chased by a fan on the pitch in the match against Marseille
Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world. It’s no wonder there are plenty of people who want to meet him. And some will take it to an even higher level and follow Messi onto the pitch during a match. A Marseille fan showed that on Sunday.

Paris Saint Germain visited Olympique Marseille, the fourth team in the league, as part of the eleventh round of the French Ligue 1. The match didn’t offer much footballing beauty, ending 0:0.
Both teams managed to get the ball behind the goalkeepers’ backs, but the referee didn’t award the goals due to offside. In the 73rd minute, Messi’s attack was not stopped by the home defence but by a fan.
He went up the pitch and started chasing the speedy Lionel Messi, who was preparing to shoot from the edge of the area.
However, the fan intercepted him and play had to be stopped. There was no confrontation with the player. The fan merely grabbed him by the arm and then the stewards arrived.
He was escorted off the field without conflict and play soon resumed. However, nothing changed the state of the match.
Despite this loss, PSG easily lead the French league with 28 points. Second are Lens, who have 7 points less.
