Messi as a doll! Watch the Argentine footballer’s brilliant penalty
PSG were in an unenviable situation against Leipzig. They were losing 1:2 and would have made the relegation fight very difficult. But within seven minutes, Lionel Messi scored twice to turn the game around.
PSG were in an unenviable situation against Leipzig. They were down 1: 2 and would have made the relegation fight very difficult. But within seven minutes, Lionel Messi scored twice to turn the game around.
The Parisians started the match well, already in the 9th minute Kylian Mbappé took advantage of a fast break to send the home side into the lead. But then they stopped playing and Leipzig took over. Andre Silva equalised in the 28th minute and Mukiele even sent the visitors into the lead in the 57th minute.
But the Germans only held the lead until the 67th minute. Mbappé pulled the ball down the wing and passed it to Messi, who was very lucky to tap it into the net with the help of the bar.
Seven minutes later, Mbappé again made his way into the box but was fouled. He offered the penalty to Messi, who took it gracefully.
He sent goalkeeper Gulacsi to the bar and scored with a glorious Antonín Panenka-style long-range shot.
Messi still had a chance to score a hat-trick in the 94th minute, but this time Mbappé took another penalty. However, he missed it by a wide margin.
With the win, PSG hold on to top spot in Group A with seven points, while second-placed Manchester City have six.
