Paul Pogba has scored several wonderful goals in his career, but this is one of the best ever. In the match against Udinese, he got to the deflected ball and thrilled the home fans with a stunning bomb.
It was supposed to be a thrilling and even match, but it turned out to be a straightforward affair in which Juventus only confirmed their dominance.
The Serie A match between Juventus and Udinese on 19 January 2013 was won by a single player. Paul Pogba’s two goals set his team up for a 4-0 win, with the first goal being a showpiece.
The 41st minute was underway when the Udinese defence cleared the ball out of their own penalty area. Unfortunately for them, the ball came down to Paul Pogba, who already knew what to do with it.
Pogba worked the ball perfectly into his movement and sent it into the net from the second touch immediately after it bounced off the ground. The French footballer dug into the ball perfectly, the shot flew into the top left corner of the net. Goalkeeper Padelli had no chance to intervene.
It was an important goal that sent Juventus into the lead. The home side could play more calmly and outplay their opponents all the more. Juventus then finally decided the game in the second half.
And once again Pogba had a hand in it, adding a second goal in the 66th minute, and once again it was a shot from outside the box. After that, Vucinic and Matri sealed the win for their team.
With this match Juventus confirmed its dominance, which it could boast in the 2012/2013 season. In the end, they dominated the league table by nine points ahead of second-placed Napoli. The opponent from Udinese finished in fifth place.
