Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored a number of fantastic goals and football moments during his active career. He added one of them in the Champions League, when he sent a rocket that ended up in the left post.
It was 23 October 2013 when Paris Saint-Germain took on Anderlecht in the Champions League group stage.
It was the third match of the regular Group C for both teams. Anderlecht played in front of their home fans, having previously notched up two losses in a row. PSG were clear favourites after clear wins over Olympiakos (4-1) and Benfica (3-0).
And this role was fulfilled to perfection by then coach Laurent Blanc’s charges. Zlatan Ibrahimovic drew almost all the attention to himself. The Parisians won 5:0 on the ground of the then Belgian league champion, with four goals scored by the Swedish goalkeeper.
Ibrahimovic scored the first goal in the 17th minute when he just tapped the ball into the net. He scored the second goal five minutes later, when he headed the ball behind goalkeeper Kaminski.
He managed to score a third time before the end of the first half. In the 36th minute, he leaned on the ball and then sent an unstoppable rocket towards the left post of Anderlecht’s goal.
Ibrahimovic practically single-handedly decided the game in the first half. You can watch this wonderful football moment in the video below.
Clearly out of the group, over in the quarter-finals
But that was not all from the Swedish legend. In the 52nd minute, Edinson Cavani made it 4:0, but Ibrahimovic decided to shine in the match once more.
He added his fourth goal in the 62nd minute, when he worked the ball with his head on the right side of the pitch and sent his shot into the left post, from which the ball bounced behind the helpless goalkeeper.
The Parisians dominated the group with 13 points and a score of 16:5. The French giant also made it through the quarter-final double-header against Leverkusen (6: 1), but in the quarter-finals they came up against Chelsea, who made it to the semi-finals thanks to the greater number of goals on the opponent’s pitch rule.
