Meeting of two Czech goalkeepers! Hladký transfers to Ipswich, meets Holý at the club
Tomas Holy has a new competitor. The 30-year-old goalkeeper Václav Hladký, who was a member of Salford in the Fourth Division, has joined Ipswich. Ipswich bought him for money that is not usual for the local conditions.

Václav Hladký is changing his commitment after a year, having joined Salford from St. Mirren in Scotland. He swapped a quarter-league club for a third-league one, Ipswich Town.
He earned the transfer with his outstanding performances and Salford certainly didn’t want to get rid of him. The offer, however, was for 20 million crowns, a high sum by local standards.
After all, he is already thirty years old and a goalkeeper, he doesn’t go for those horrendous sums. Now he will play in the third league, but he will have an interesting competitor.
Tomáš Holý, who has been the number one goalkeeper for almost the whole season, is in the club. Now he will have to fight to stay in the starting line-up.
Ipswich finished ninth last season, which was definitely not considered a success.
The team from Suffolk County has the biggest goals, namely a clear promotion. And that’s where Smooth comes in.
