Me and Pep Guardiola? We are exactly the same, says Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. What specific similarities does he see?

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola didn’t miss the last race of the Formula 1 season and took the opportunity to visit the motorsport queen’s paddock. And it was there that he met Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, with whom they found many similarities. What did the two managers say about each other?
In November, the Manchester City coach decided to visit the last race of the 2022 Formula 1 season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he met the sport’s big personality – the boss of Mercedes.
After his visit to the paddock, Wolff took Guardiola on a so-called “hot lap” around the Yas Marina circuit, but before that he attended an event presented by Puma, where they exchanged some interesting words in a Q&A session on the same stage.
And for two people who work in completely different sports, they found many similarities in their managerial approach.
“We were on stage for a Q&A session, where we were invited by Puma. We didn’t know each other before, but when I heard him speak, it was like my sentences. He has the same attitude and he said the same thing about me,” Wolff explained on the Beyond the Grid podcast.
“Basically, it’s about managing people. He’s someone who will definitely be part of my journey in the future because he was on the same wave. He’s an exciting personality,” Wolff continued.
The German stable boss added that they do not know each other well enough to be able to utter one slogan, one slogan that he and Guardiola would share. However, he noted that they both trust their instincts very much.
It should be noted, it is very evident in the work of both of them and it is one of the reasons why they both make their teams so successful.
Speaking of numbers…
Wolff, as team boss, has led the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team to eight consecutive Constructors’ Cup titles, a hegemony only ended this year by Red Bull. The Spanish giant also has countless successes to his name, whether with Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Manchester City.
With the English club in particular, he has four championship titles, four English League Cup championships and one FA Cup victory.
